The possibility of taking a six-year- old child to a wonderful destination via the airplane can be filled with both excitement and trepidation. Excitement speaks for itself, whereas, trepidation because you do not think that he/she will be able to handle such an enclosed area, especially when it's going to be a long flight. As a result of this, you may be asking yourself, "What can I do to make this flight a little bit easier?" Well, a few things that you can do are:
Healthy Snacks
You can take some healthy snacks onto the flight with you. You may be able to purchase some of them at the airport, but only take snacks that they usually eat.
Comfort Items
Many children have a comfort item, whether it is a teddy bear, a blanket, or a piece of childhood clothing. When you are leaving for the airport, if for some reason the child do not want to hold the item in his/her hands, it can be placed in the carry-on luggage. Place it at the top, so that you can easily reach it when needed.
Comfortable Clothing
It is best to dress them in comfortable and easy to adjust clothing because the temperature in an airplane can change throughout the flight. That is, clothing that will prevent then from becoming too hot or too cold and thereby taking away the possibility of them becoming irritable.
You can also place a light jacket or sweater in the carry-on luggage even if the destination will be a warm place.
Books, games etc.
It is also a good idea to walk with some books, games, puzzles etc. to keep them productive, while at the same time distracting them from the length of the flight.
