Corporate Jet Travel Goes Mainstream

By Amarath Pfeiffe
Today there are many businesses and private individuals taking a good look at charter jet travel in lieu of the increased security at the world's airports and the pressures of time restraints.

Private jets were once associated only with the rich and famous but now many private jet companies are advertising and targeting businesses and families to invest in a jet charter.

Many airlines have increased their prices due to the stricter security measures in place, making the thought of hiring a private business jet very alluring. Airlines have cut back on service and at the same time offer less convenience to their customers. You still have to stand in long security lines, try to find long-term parking space at the airport and must coordinate your connecting flights when flying commercially. Executives are considering corporate jets more and more as they offer luxury, great service and save a great deal of time.

Many companies today are using jet charter membership cards that offers their employees exclusive benefits and the ability book corporate jets at the last minute. This card holds your information so that the corporate jet companies can arrange a jet for you quickly.

Nothing could be more impressive to your clients than having them know that you fly on a corporate business jet. The lasting impression this will make will surely help you succeed at business. It is a 'dog eat dog' world in the business arena, and by investing in a corporate jet charter, you are one step ahead of the pack.

Charter Flight Booking Advice

By Graham McKenzie
A charter airline works on a contract basis. That means they are set up for a specific customer, and they fly outside of normally scheduled times. The bigger airlines do not advertise as charter companies, however, many of them do offer that type of service.

Most often charter flights transport small groups of passengers to a prearranged activity or destination. Occasionally, members of sports teams and companies use charter services, as well. Even military personnel have been known to book a charter flight. Nonetheless, the majority of charter flights still cater to specific functions. With this kind of booking, the charter company is usually not responsible for selling tickets. Instead, the holiday companies handle ticket sales, and most of these charter flights are a package deal. As part of a holiday set-up, the package includes the price of the ticket, along with accommodations and other services. Occasionally, people want to travel to the destination but do not want all the amenities. They have the option of purchasing a 'flight-only' package, at a cost that is usually less expensive than if they had booked on a scheduled airline.

It's a little trickier to find bargains on charter flights, as opposed to scheduled flights, as comparative shopping engines simply do not include charter fares. Even so, people do use the Internet to book charter flights. Actually, the Internet booking market for charter flights is catching up with the scheduled flight market. An advantage of charter flights is the ability to operate on routes that cannot support a scheduled carrier. Thus, making use of small and medium-sized airports allows service in areas that otherwise, would have none.

Finding the right company can be a little tricky, but if you search the charter companies on the Internet, you can usually find a provider that will meet your needs at a very reasonable price. Regardless of their reputation, however, it is important to find out a little about the company before committing yourself. Do not be shy about asking how the pilots are trained, and make sure ARG/US has approved the flight crew. You will also want to find out how the charter aircraft is serviced, and who is responsible for that maintenance. The safety record of the company is important, as well.

Another area you want to investigate is company stability. One of the disadvantages associated with charter service is that a company can fold unexpectedly. This leaves customers, who have arranged and paid for service, stranded, and there is usually little hope for them to recoup their money. Yet, if the company proves sound, charter flights offer some significant advantages. Not only can they provide private, comfortable transportation for smalls groups, those flights can be booked 24-hours a day, 365-days a year, allowing you to fly on your own timeline.

Charter Jet Cost and Benefits

By Jesse Robinson
Charter jet cost can vary depending on the size and type of jet, and where you want to go. For example, if you were to take a light jet - say, a Learjet, which seats about 5-8 passengers, from Boston to Seattle one way, it could cost around 20 grand, more or less, depending on the time of year and booking times. A medium jet - say, a Hawker for example, which seats 7-9 passengers, might cost about 30 grand in this example. A heavy jet such as is used for corporate flight trips - say, a Falcon, which can seat up to 15 passengers, might run in the neighborhood of 40 grand, more or less, and a turbo prop such as a Cessna which can seat up to 12, may be about 20 grand in this example as well. This would generally be the ballpark charter jet cost whether one passenger is going on the trip, or a full plane.

Obviously, the benefits of traveling by private jet outweigh the whole charter jet cost... for example catering and in-flight spa (in many cases included for free), pets riding in your lap or in the seat right next to you - which is truly wonderful considering that the United States Humane Society has recommended we never take pets on commercial flights due to harsh conditions in the cargo hold which lead to many traumatic deaths, security checks being much simpler and much less time consuming, and the total and complete lack of lines (you drive right up to the jet and go straight from car to plane), just to name but a small few.

Some may consider private ownership or fractional ownership of a private jet, thinking the cost would be more economical. This may seem so on paper, but in reality the upkeep costs, regular registrations and other hassles can be a continuing cost, both monetarily and time-wise. Further, even if you own or partially own a private jet, you will invariably end up chartering as well anyway. There are times when your jet may be down for maintenance, or otherwise unavailable, or it may not be the right jet which could serve your present needs. If you have a small private jet but need to take more passengers than it can carry, will you make two or three trips? Charter jet cost in this regard in comparatively much smaller, and instead of just one jet, you have 24 hour access to a fleet of many kinds 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Can You Still Afford a Private Jet?

By Earl Ayrford
The economy is certainly bumping along and for many who purchased a private jet when economic conditions were high, the luxury of having a plane at your disposal might now seem a bit distasteful when compared with other costs of the business, especially if you're scaling back. However, hard times in various industries don't necessarily mean that your business must struggle as well. There are many industries that have made it through with nary a scratch from the economic downturn, and yours might be one of them.

Initial Costs of Ownership

The biggest bulk of money for a private jet comes upfront. Even if you lease or buy a plane using installments, you must put a tidy sum of money down. The same is true in fractional ownership programs. If you have funds for the initial payment or you've already paid these funds, you're in a position to continue or start to own a jet. Companies or individuals which need those funds to cover other areas of the business during hard times would do well to wait a bit for ownership, but if you have the funds, this is an excellent time to own a jet.

Aircraft Selection

A luxury item, private aircraft sales have decreased along with many other luxuries as the global economy waits to recover. Companies that are struggling might consider offloading their jet to others making it a buyer's market in many regards. Those who continue to own or are ready to buy have more aircraft to choose from, and might be able to negotiate better rates on certain planes. The most popular designs won't have much bargaining room, but more common aircraft, especially those that are pre-owned, might be a terrific deal.

Fuel Prices are Low

Fuel prices have fallen tremendously since last summer, and low fuel costs mean low operation costs. Flying a plane can be expensive with costs for crew, maintenance and fuel, but fuel costs were easily the largest consideration for those who travel frequently. Lower prices mean you can fly your plane for far less than you could just months ago.

Availability of Talent

While you don't need many employees when you have your own jet, the scaled back travel industry might mean that you can land better crew for your aircraft than you could otherwise. The decreased number of jets purchased also means that the company you choose for airline maintenance will also be in a better position to offer you superior service.

The Power of Success

If your business is successful in hard times, the perception is you must be doing everything right. A private jet is a very outward and visible sign of your success. Those who have remained steady through the downturn are more trusted by others. If you can afford a jet, others can afford to work with you - and all you have to do is fly to make such a solid statement.

Private Plane Rental Costs - What You Should Expect When Hiring a Private Plane

By Max Suther
Private plane rental costs are getting more and more affordable to the average person everyday. There are several factors that determine the costs of renting a private plane and this article will explain those factors and how to lower them.

The costs of a private jet rental depend on the type of jet you are interested in. The more luxurious the plane the more it will cost to fly. So if you don't really need a lot of luxury, then find planes that aren't as jazzy inside.

Another factor that will lower the price is how many people you book on the flight. The more people you can find to fly with you the better the individual rate will be. If you fly alone then expect to pay a large sum for your ticket. Private planes can actually save your company money if you have enough people to fill the jet. Next time compare a commercial flight with a private flight and see the difference.

One of the biggest factors of course is the distance you are flying. You can lower this cost by finding dead head flights. Most private planes are not booked going back to the original point of departure. Normally a jet will need to fly from point A to point B with passengers, but will rarely have passengers going back to point A. This is the dead head link. Ask a travel agent or booking agent for dead head flights. If you are flexible with your travel times you can drastically reduce the costs of your private charter.

Charter Private Jet Service

By Luis JJ Teixeira
There are many companies who charter private jet services these days, so how do you know which one to pick and which one is right for you? Perhaps you have never even thought about chartering a private jet service. You never even knew they were available or even affordable, so let's take a look at some of the facts about chartering private jet service.

It seems like the standard public airlines would do just fine for you when traveling abroad, but there are some very valid reasons why you would want to charter private jet services. For one thing, private jet services eliminate the wait in line that you would normally have for a public jet. You will not have to deal with the headache of sharing a row crammed in like a sardine with hardly an inch to breath. There are other perks such as better food and restroom facilities as well as advanced entertainment possibilities. Some private jets even have Jacuzzi s and movie screening rooms. Talk about flying in style!

On top of all this, private jet services afford you the ability to make non-stop flights over long distances without all the hassles of layovers where you have to constantly switch your baggage from plane to plane. This can eliminate tons of stress and time when it comes to your trips especially if you fly often. It is even more important when you need to be on time and cannot afford any needless delays.

There are several ways you can get involved with private jet services. The first way is to have fractal ownership of a service. This is when you own a percentage of a plane or service with several other people. You share the cost and essentially share the service. The rates are significantly lower and you can choose ahead of time when the plane can be available to you. You pay a lot of fees for this service, but if you need a plane to get you there for a big event, it may be well worth the money.

The second way to get into a private jet service is through flight card programs. Flight cards are pre-paid cards where you purchase so many flight miles or hours that you fly. These are convenient because they are basically pay as you go, similar to pre-paid phone cards that you would use for a cell phone service. You can purchase from 25 hours to 100 hours at a time and get to pick the plane you want to fly on. This is quite convenient for pleasure trips or business trips.

The private charter jet is another way to fly. This is a simple setup where you pay per hour and pay for only what you use. These planes have access to more airports than commercial planes and are very convenient for last minute planning. Sometimes you can call within a few hours of when you want to leave and they will make sure you get there.

There is a huge difference between flying commercial and chartering private jets. It all depends on the style in which you want to travel as well as how often you need to travel. It is good to know that with private jets, the sky is literally the limit!

Private Charter Planes - 3 Tips to Lower Your Costs of Private Plane Rentals

By Max Suther
Today many people believe that flying in a private charter plane is very expensive and out of reach for most people. The truth is that private plane rentals can be very economical for business or pleasure. This article will explore how to lower the costs of flying in a private charter plane.

Why fly in a private jet? There are many reasons, but here are a few. The biggest savings is time. I don't have to worry about parking at the commercial airport. I don't have to wait in long security lines or baggage check in lines. I can basically drive up to my jet or close to it at a small airport, walk on to the plane and then expect to take off. Other reasons are that you don't have to put up with other passengers and delays. The degree of luxury can be much better than flying first class in a commercial jet, but luxury is not available on all private charter planes.

Now that you are sold on renting a private jet, you need to find out how to cut the costs. If you are flying for pleasure, then consider flying on the dead head flight. If your travel schedule is flexible, then you can save a tremendous amount of money on the dead head link. When a jet goes from point A to point B it must fly back to point A, normally empty. This is the dead head flight. Owners of jets would rather put someone on the flight at a lower price in order to pay for fixed expenses. If you are flexible you can save a ton of money.

Another way to save money is to get more people to fly with you. If you are flying for business then try to get everyone on the same flight instead of some people taking a commercial flight. The more people you get to fly the more you will save on a group rate.

Most people book flights using a private jet broker, but if you call the local airports you might be able to negotiate a lower rate directly with the owner of the jet.

Private charter planes are a viable way of flying these days and you can do it at a lower costs than most people think. Private Plane Rental Costs - Two Great Tips on How to Lower the Costs of Private Jet Rentals

By Max Suther
Private plane rental costs may be less than what you expected. The costs of a private jet charter are getting lower and lower every day. There are a few ways to save money using a private plane and this article will explain two of those ways.

Method One - One of the best ways to save money on your next private plane rental is to find empty flights. That right...empty flights. You see most charter jets are only charted one way for the day that they fly. So if a person hires a private plane to go from Atlanta Georgia to Dallas Texas then most likely the plane will go back empty to Atlanta. This is called a dead link or dead head. If you are flexible with your travel dates then this method will work great at lowering the costs to fly. Check with a specialist who books private jets and tell them this is what you are looking for. If you are flying to a popular destination then there is a great chance you will get an excellent rate.

Method Two - Call owners of private jets personally or go to a local small airport and ask around. There are many small jet owners who will be glad to get your business and not have to pay the booking agent. In many of the smaller airports there will be a bulletin board of different jet owners looking for more business. Call them up and see if they fly where you want to go. You will be surprised by how low the costs of flying a private plane can be.

Why Consider Hiring a Private Jet in a Recession?

By Bo M Hol
There is no denying that private jet charter is more expensive than travelling by a regular aircraft operator. However, you have to look at what you get for your money. Convenience, speed, hassle free travel and increased security are just some of the advantages you get.

Making the business case:

The corporate world in the twenty first century is truly trans-global. This means many companies have to send their top executives abroad to communicate with the different sections of their business spread over numerous continents. Some communications can still be achieved via email and teleconferencing but nothing beats a face to face meeting. The modern day executive can use helicopter charter or an air taxi if they have to do regular short hops. This saves them time by allowing them to see multiple parts of the business in one day and be back in the office the next day.

Keep your executives happy:

In the glory days flying used to be a pleasure. However, with increasing queues caused by increased security checks, cancellations, lost baggage, flying by today's operators is a real pain. Flying by air charter can avoid all of these problems and keep your executives happy.

If you do have to fly to a main airport you are likely to be ushered to the exclusive private jet terminal. In addition to a hassle free departure private air charter means you cut down on hotel bills. If you are sending top executives abroad you are likely to have to fork out hefty sums for expensive hotels.

Feel secure:

The large plane operators and airports still have a real threat from terrorism. Using private air charter removes this threat as you are likely to know the person you are flying with. As stated above flying by air charter means you will be flying from small local airports. These airports are highly unlikely to be targeted by terrorists. Moreover, as there are a large number of these regional airports it means you can fly closer to your destination. This will save you time and therefore money.

Smarter Air Charter is based in the UK. We can help you with hiring any aircraft you wish from a 747 to a small pro plane. We specialise in helicopter charter, air taxi charter and private jet charter.

Private Plane Rental Rates - 2 Great Tips to Help You Save Money

By Max Suther
Private plane rental rates are not that expensive when you consider what you get for your money. This article will explain the advantages to hiring a private plane and why private plane rates are really not that expensive.

Time Savings - If you are like most people your time is worth money. If you have to fly commercial then most likely you will spend a great deal of time looking for parking and then taking the shuttle to the terminal. You will also spend time in the security line waiting up to a couple of hours. Of course there will be delays and even cancellations due to weather. All of these things lead to wasted time and therefore wasted money. When using a private plane you can park close by because private jest normally take off at smaller airports that are less crowded. You don't have to wait in long lines for security checks, and rarely are your flights delayed. The simple fact that you could save a few hours flying a private charter versus a commercial airline is worth noting when figuring the true costs of renting a private plane.

Dead Head Flights - If you are smart you will try to save money on private planes by flying as the dead head. What's dead head flying? Well, when a flight is booked from one city to the next, the charter normally has to fly back to the original airport empty. The owners of the jet would rather put someone on going back at any costs. This is dead heading and can save you hundreds of dollars. When booking a charter flight ask the agent for possible dead head reservations. You might just save a bundle of money.

Private Plane Rental - 3 Great Advantages to Hiring a Private Plane

By Max Suther
Private plane rental has its advantages over commercial flying. Yes, hiring a private jet could be more expensive but the advantages may be worth the extra costs. This article will explain three comforts of renting a private jet.

Comfort - There is no doubt that most private planes have more leg room and comfortable seats. You don't have to worry about being squeezed between two people for your entire flight. There are only a few seats on a charted jet and this translates into more room. There is no doubt that you will be more comfortable than if you were flying in a commercial jet.

Convenience - One of the greatest advantages is a great savings in time. You don't have to park at a large commercial airport. You can practically drive up to the plane. You won't have to worry about long security check lines. Yes, you will go through some type of security but it will be seconds versus hours. You don't have to worry about the long delays. The airports are less crowded and therefore you don't have to worry about getting in a long line to take off.

Fun - Yes, flying on a private jet is fun as you might imagine. The modern jets are very well designed and fly smoothly. This type of flying makes you feel special and that is what we need sometimes when we get run down. Try hiring a private plane and you won't be sorry.

Yes it may cost a little more to fly in a private plane, but you will be more comfortable, it is more convenient, and it is fun.

Why Hire a Private Plane - 3 Great Reasons Why Hiring Private Jets is a Good Thing

By Max Suther
Why should you hire a private plane? There are several reasons why this might be in your best interest to hire a jet charter. This article will explain the convenience reasons and the financial reasons.

Reason 1 - Flying in a private plane is fun. Just think about it, no more long security lines. No more delays at the terminals. You don't have to show up two hours early, but instead can show up a few minutes before take off. You don't have to worry about traffic around the airport because most of the airports are small and private. The luxury of some planes is much better than business class or first class in a commercial jet. You don't have to worry about who you sit with and a tremendous amount of people. Need I say more?

Reason 2 - Financial reasons. Yes, you can travel cheaper than some commercial flights. How you may ask? By being a dead head. Many charter flights take passengers from point A to point B, but then are empty going back to point A. These plans would rather put someone in the jet at any cost. Three Scenarios a Private Jet Rental Could Bring a Positive ROI

By Amarath Pfeiffer
There are occasions when economizing may not bring the returns one would hope. Spending a dollar can actually help one boost the bottom line. In this day and age private jet travel is often considered an extravagance. Indeed, private jets can become unnecessarily expensive in a hurry. But if one was to watch how they acquired a jet (charter is a less expensive option) and how it was used, a net positive return can be found. The following are three possible scenarios one can consider when using a private jet for travel.

Golf Outing
Many business deals are sealed on the golf course. If one does business in the same metropolitan area or even same geographical region as their prospects, it is quite the possibility that the prospects have played the same courses over and over. Though getting out on the links for a weekday may be a welcome respite, how impressive would it be if one could fly them to a top 100 golf course? Augusta anyone? Pebble Beach? Fly in the late morning, play in the afternoon, and be home for a late dinner. Considering that a positive deal could net your company millions, an expenditure on a private jet doesn't seem that extreme. Consider a day trip, round-trip could cost $10,000 but the net profit to the company is one million dollars, that is only a one percent investment to seal the deal.

Multi-city Sales Calls
Time is money is the old business mantra. A private jet saves a lot of time, therefore saving a lot of money. Consider if a salesperson for the company could meet with three prospects, in three cities in a one-day. Meet with one prospect first thing in the early morning, meet another one over lunch, and the final one in the late afternoon; and then be home for before bedtime. With regular commercial airlines one would be limited to probably one per day meaning four one-way fares, plus hotels, per diems, and car rentals. Also, the wasted time traveling. Adding all these expenses and then measuring a one day private jet rental, the jet could actually be saving the company money.

Crowd Of Executives
Are the key executives needed at a retreat, training, or conference? Flying them all first-class on standard commercial aircraft can be expensive. Again, flying all the executives via private jet can net a savings. This is the most often used example of a positive ROI for using a private jet. Additional savings can be found if arrival at the event can happen earlier or departure sooner because the private jet flies at the renter's schedule. Unlike commercial flights where one has to accommodate themselves to the airline's schedule. Potentially saving the expenses of additional room nights and per diems also.

Private Jet Considerations

By Amarath Pfeiffer
The are a number of indicators one considers as denoting success. Items like a large home, expensive cars, jewelry, exotic vacations, and private jets. Of that short list only one stands alone as being reserved for those who have reached the pinnacle of success. After all, in an age of McMansions a big home may be just an over extension of one's credit, expensive vehicles could be a lease, jewelry may be a quality fake, and the world is now open to everyone for travel. The one indicator out of reach unless one has the honest ability to attain it is private jet travel.

The connotations associated with a private jet absolutely broadcast that one has arrived. The world changes for those who travel by private jet- one does not have to arrive two hours early to be screened by security, or if late, have to sprint through the airport before the cabin door closes. With a private jet everything is based around the jet traveler, the plane does not takeoff until they arrive but does takeoff the moment they get seated on board. One may feel free to take shoes off, smoke, have pets seated next to them uncaged, and walk on board with a drink in hand. The locations one may travel to in the continental US go up by a factor of ten, five thousand airports for the private jet traveler as opposed to just five hundred for the commercial air traveler.

With a private jet costing anywhere from five million to forty million dollars, there are some considerations to do pondered before making a call for a private jet.

Size Of Jet

The size of a jet needed is determined by two factors, the number of passengers needing to be hauled and the distance of trips flown. On the small side (light jets) there are aircraft that can hold seven passengers and travel about 1,500 miles. On the heavier side there are large executive jets, which can carry twelve passengers and travel a range of four thousand miles.

Type of Ownership

There are a number of ways one may fly in a private jet.

* Fractional Card - With this manner of ownership one buys a set number of hours to fly in an aircraft in the fleet.
* On-demand Charter - A more traditional form of renting a jet along with a staff to fly the aircraft. Good for a single or occasional trip.
* Charter Card - Operating like a debit card, one opens an account with a set amount of dollars. This account is then deducted from on an hourly rate, in-flight basis.
* Limited-route Alternatives - Like mini-airlines, luxury aircraft serve popular routes on a schedule and one buy a seat for each trip.
* Outright Ownership - One buys a multimillion-dollar aircraft and pays all fees, taxes, fuels, maintenance, pilot costs, and hangar expenses.

Ultimately, one must decide if the additional cost of a private jet is for them. Definitely a case can be made for the timesavings and the luxury is a definite perk. However, with the high cost involved, private jets should be examined closely before moving even for a simple single charter flight.

Even in a Recession Booking a Private Jet Can Still Make Sense

By Patrick Margetson-Rushmore
When economic times are hard it may seem counter-intuitive to consider using an executive jet as your method of transport. But is it? Do you need to visit three of your company's overseas sites in a day? Discuss market-sensitive plans with colleagues while en route? Maximise productive time rather than enduring interminable airport delays? Then business jet hire may very well be a viable option.

Add the direct costs of three or four executives' business-class airline fares plus the indirect costs of wasted time while negotiating the increasingly frazzling major airport experience and an executive jet - while not cheap - becomes an increasingly realistic option. And if executives can get home at the end of the day, their company also saves on hotel bills.

Much adverse sentiment towards booking a private jet is based on the outmoded image of these aircraft as 'emperor's barges' - an image which, in the vast majority of cases, is completely at odds with the uses to which these aircraft are put today.

Getting to grips with chartering

Private jet charter used to be the preserve of a very small number of senior PAs with major organisations; the option would simply not have occurred to many companies. Several factors have changed their stance.

Firstly, companies have become much leaner; increasingly, fewer managers need to do more. Booking an executive jet lets you do that. You are in control; you're paying for the aircraft, so you dictate the terms. Instead of being tied to airline schedules, the aircraft follows yours. And if that schedule changes - if meetings overrun, if traffic jams delay you - your aircraft will still be there for you. It's totally flexible.

Secondly, as noted above, major airports have become increasingly frustrating places. Longer check-in times, queues for security, bans on liquids...they all add up to hassle that senior executives can do without. Hiring an executive jet gives you the ability to get into smaller airports closer to your ultimate destination, saving valuable time.

And airports specialising in executive aviation, such as Farnborough or Biggin Hill near London, or Le Bourget on the outskirts of Paris, have an added inherent layer of security. Anyone flying on a private jet is usually known to his fellow-passengers and is thus by definition not a threat.

Such airports have the added benefit of being discreet; if your company is in the throes of a takeover talks for a foreign competitor, for example, you may not want your top executives to be seen in the business lounges of mainstream airports.

Thirdly, another benefit in private jet hire is the ability to maximise executives' productive time. They can prepare for the next meeting or discuss sensitive issues secure in the knowledge that their deliberations will remain confidential.

Which aircraft?

If booking an executive jetis terra incognita for you, like any new activity it can initially seem confusing. Many of the aircraft look vaguely similar. Take heart. Nobody expects you to keep the specifications for individual models in your head. This is where you can call on the expertise of a charter operator or air broker. (Operators own or manage the aircraft themselves, brokers act as middlemen between you and the operator.)

Provide them with some basic information - number of passengers, length of journey and your budget. They should be able to suggest an option to fit your requirements.

The aircraft costs the same whether it's carrying one passenger or eight, but for a group of three or four travelling to Germany, for example, it might be possible to use a smaller, less-expensive model, such as the recently-introduced Cessna Citation Mustang. This is an entry-level four-passenger jet pitched to cost around one-third less than its predecessors.

Planning your trip

Operators and brokers need certain basic information to ensure everything slots into place.

Some are obvious, such as the departure point. But do your passengers want to get there under their own steam or to be picked up? From home or the office? Providing passport details in advance is helpful and reduces already short check-in procedures even further. Operators and brokers should both have 24-hour operations departments to handle short-notice trips.

Booking a car to meet the aircraft at a remote destination may not be easy for you, but it's precisely the type of service good charter companies provide as a matter of routine.

And you specify the in-flight catering. Coffee and croissants for an early-morning departure? Lunch en route between your first and second destinations? You decide.

Finally, what time do the passengers need to be home? If a CEO is in the habit of reading a bedtime story to his young children at 7pm, he has a greater chance of being able to do so if he is following his own schedule, rather than an airline's.
