Interviewing at Jet Blue
Howdy,
I'm interviewing with Jet Blue this Friday. Anyone out there have anything you think I should know? This is my first and hopefully last interview after leaving the military. Thanks!

The gouge out there is pretty accurate. Spend a lot of time learning about the company (history, values, verbage if possible). There have been a few books written about JB... quick reads and very comprehensive.
Aside from that, the interview is consists of TMAAT (Tell me about a time) type questions related to actual flying experience. Very few techincal questions and no sim ride. Lastly, its been stated that: "The JetBlue person is one who embraces the values.." Just keep that in mind while interviewing and you will be good to go, it is very low stress.
Good Luck

Our interviews are all "Tell me about a time when...". There are not technical questions. I think the hiring folks just try to figure out if they could deal with flying you for a four day trip. If you want an example of questions asked, try www.aviationinterviews.com. Good luck.

No tech questions, no sim ride. The entire interview consists of "Tell me about a time.....". You should have a general idea of the answers. If you want interview coaching specific to JetBlue, (because you don't have much time) call Emerald Coast Interview Consulting right away. They're great guys and a big help. If you don't get the job, they refund your money.
And know their core values by memory; fun, passion, caring, integrity, and safety. They will ask you these. They will also ask you out of these core values, in which one do you need to improve the most? Don't say "safety"!! You should probably say "fun".

Wow. I think three of us responded simultaneously with pretty much the same info. That should tell you something.

Guys, thanks for the quick response! I did emerald coast and read Blue Streak and Flying High. Guess I'm just getting jittery. Last interview I had was 14 years ago in college joining ROTC!
=================================
As for the jitters; They do everything they can to make you feel comfortable. The whole interview day was a class act.
Also; if you're flying there on JB, introduce yourself to the crew and tell them you're interviewing. Try to remember the pilots' names and one FA. Some have been asked if they remember who flew them to the interview. Also, since the pilots help clean the airplane, wait until the pax leave and stick around for a few minutes and help straighten seat belts and pick up trash in 3 or 4 rows while shooting the breeze.
[Good luck!
