Parking at Birmingham Airport - Birmingham Airport Car Park Facilities

Birmingham airport car park facilities provide a competitive range of options at prices which don't restrict which you choose. With two major terminals helping 40 separate airlines operate, and serving 9 million passengers a year, this is an airport which has seen a great deal of development in recent years, and is continuing to expand. The parking facilities reflect this expansion, and whilst still very competitive are very much as you would expect from a major airport of this size.

There are five separate parking options from which you can choose at Birmingham airport, and these include short stay parking, medium stay or multi-story parking, long stay parking, valet services and hotel parking. Which option you choose is based on a combination of convenience and cost.

The short stay parking is ideal if you're only staying at the airport for up to 2 hours. Prices for the short stay car park at Birmingham airport start at just £1.20 for the first half hour, which is significantly cheaper than many of the major airports.

For longer stays you have a number of choices, and the multi-story medium stay car parks might be worth considering. These start at £2.60 per hour and although they offer the convenience of allowing you to simply turn up and park, they can prove to be expensive for extended stays. If you're staying longer than a day or two you would be better off choosing the long stay car parks, valet car parks or even the hotel options.

You are also going to be considerably better off if you have the ability to book in advance. Pre-booking 90 days in advance can result in long stay rates of just £2.99 per day! This is far cheaper than most other airports, and is well worth considering if you have the ability to plan three months in advance. As far as Birmingham airport car park facilities go, it's certainly the cheapest option.

There are six different long stay car parks run by a number of operators. Although these are further away, they represent the cheapest possible rates. A free bus service is provided from each of the long stay car parks, and this runs approximately every 12 minutes, and runs 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The closest off-airport long stay car park is Birmingham Airparks Service and is 4.5 miles from the terminal.

The Birmingham Airport Long Stay car park 1 is on site, and a free bus service runs every 5 minutes. Disabled places are available, but you will need to book in advance in order to guarantee that you will be able to reserve one of these. Another long stay option is the Birmingham APH which is off site and approximately 15 minutes' bus journey away. This car park holds the AA/Police Gold Award for security and includes high security fencing, CCTV monitored 24 hours a day and guards on duty 24 hours a day.

Prices for most of the long stay car parks are about 60% cheaper if you can book in advance, and the rate of £2.99 per day is the best long stay rate available. This is only available however if you book 90 days in advance and for a period of at least one week.

Although these car parks offer very discounted and highly competitive rates, there are further options to consider because sometimes it isn't just about the price. When you arrive at an airport sometimes for a little extra the convenience of not having to worry about parking your car, or of finding it again at the end of your trip, is worth a great deal.

If you have a lot of heavy or awkward luggage, or you have elderly or disabled passengers, or perhaps a number of children, you don't want the hassle of parking miles from the airport, catching a bus and then finding your way through to the terminal. Just getting your passengers and luggage from the car to the bus stop, on and off the bus and then through to the terminal can start to make your vacation seem more like hard work. If this is the case you would do well to consider the valet service available as one of the more convenient Birmingham airport car park facilities.

Imagine driving right up to the terminal, meeting your chauffeur who will then help you unload your passengers and luggage, and drive your car away for you, parking it in a secure compound while you are away. On your return your chauffeur will bring your car to you, right up to the terminal, minimizing any worry or hassle about parking, finding your car or getting to or from the terminal. Although slightly more expensive, this does represent the easiest possible option, and as far as Birmingham airport car park facilities go, it can't be beaten when it comes to peace of mind and enjoying your trip.
