How to fly from Brisbane Airport to Gold Coast is quite a common question for travelers from outside Australia. If you live here or have been here before, you'd know the answer pretty quickly. Here's a bit of a clue using the most popular destination on the coast Surfers Paradise as the reference.* Distance between Brisbane Airport and Surfers Paradise is about 90kms. Surfers is south of Brisbane.
* Distance between Gold Coast Airport and Surfers Paradise is about 20kms. Surfers is north of GC Airport.
* Distance between Brisbane Airport and Gold Coast Airport is about 110kms.
You can fly between Brisbane and Gold Coast, just not by scheduled commercial flights or airlines. If you want to check, Brisbane airport code is BNE and GC Airport code is OOL for Coolangatta. There are no commercial flights.
However, wherever there is a desire, someone can fulfill it. There are two ways you can fly between Brisbane Airport and GC Airport.
Jet Charter
If you can afford it, you could charter a jet. Not a viable option for most of us.
Helicopter Transfer
Heli transfers can be arranged between airports or between airport and your accommodation or other venue with helipad. Again, not really what most of us do, but certainly possible.
The reality is that there are usually better ways to get between Brisbane and your Gold Coast location than flying.
Airport transfer options include:
Hire a car
Hire a car and drive yourself to your accommodation and then around to the various local attractions. Very convenient and can be cost effective for families and groups planning on doing lots of sightseeing.
Meet and Greet
Be met at the airport terminal by a driver of car, people mover or limousine. They organise your luggage and get you door to door to your destination stress free.
Airport Shuttle Buses and Coaches
Various types of buses and coaches. Some are scheduled, others pick up smaller groups and take door to door to your accommodation. Scheduled services generally take you to a central bus depot.
AirTrain
AirTrain goes from Brisbane Airport to train stations on the Gold Coast of Coomera, Helensvale, Nerang and Robina. You will need to get from the train stations to your accommodation.
Whilst there are options to fly from Brisbane to Gold Coast the reality is most visitors will use another form of Brisbane Airport transfers.
